Welcome to our first monthly theme!

The theme is open to all artists whatever your medium.

Please post your finished artwork in this discussion thread. These should be new pieces completed this month.

You have until 30th June to submit here and then I will close the thread. Please remember to use the picture icon above text box to add images and not the attachment below.

As an experiment, if you want to comment on someone's submission please do so here, but if the thread gets to messy, next month I may separate the comments from artwork.

If you have suggestions for themes, please click to this thread.

Travel ay Sue? Right I'm on it ;) thanks dear.
This watercolor was inspired at the Coeur D A'Lene Indian Reservation.

Hi Robin, this is lovely. Thank you for submitting it. I like how it stands out from the background.

I hope you will now do something specifically for the theme too as the intention of the monthly themes is to create new artwork specifically for the them.

Robin - Beautiful...great colors and textures, especially the background...it looks just like stone.

I'm going to step away from my laptop now so that I can go work on mine a bit before I have to go out later.  These monthly themes are such a great idea, Sue!

Kierra - it's perfect congrats!
It's great Esther you have captured the steepness very well. Thank you for participating.
Great job Esther. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I'm really excited about this theme ... can't wait to get started on it =)
Mayan Gold, acrylic, 12" x 12"
Here's my entry for this month's theme...this painting was inspired by a photo I took at the Maitland Art Center while on a trip to Florida last year.

It's fun to see everyone's work so far!  I'm still working on my 'travel' piece so I'm glad there's still plenty of time before the end of the month. :)

Robin - Nice watercolor! It conveys a strong sense of texture of the objects you are portraying.

Esther - Charcoal was a good medium for your drawing because it adds to the natural, rustic feel of this scene. I can just picture what it must have looked like, based on your sketch.

Donna - Great painting! The composition is well-balanced. I like the juxtaposition of straight lines/angles with the organic/curvy shapes, and the repetition of the vase color in the floral shapes on the right.

Great work everyone - can't wait to see more 'travel' themed pieces! :)

Donna this is fabulous! Thank you for participating in the theme.

I look forward to seeing more travel pieces but now I must get on with mine :)

That's the house where we spent our last holidays. It is in Bavaria and belongs to my niece.

Hi Iris - if you want to add images in a discussion you need to use the square above the discussion box not the upload file link. (sorry how website set up) I've added it for you. Sue
