The inspiring video below (embedded from Vimeo) shows the making of an ink portrait drawing that involved over 3 million dots. You can see how the artist, Miguel Endara, began his portrait with a pencil sketch, then spent 210 hours (spread out over an entire year!) stippling this piece with a Micron pen. Talk about dedication! The result is stunning, and serves as a supreme example of what can be done with a pen and a lot of patience!

I learned this in commerciqal art class way back (already knowing how to draw.) I can do it better than crosshatching though. I will try to get some of my pictures up when I can get a scanner.
