Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Swap Art Group!

This is where you can make and swap any kind of art, including but not limited to: ATCs, postcards, inchies, twinchies, bookmarks, dolls, jewelry and more!

Visit the SWAP FORUM to learn about current swaps and previous swaps, as well as upload photos of the art you received in a swap!

This forum only appears within this group (and not in the "Forums" link on the paintbrush at the top of each page), so be sure to come back to the Swap Art Group to find the swaps you've signed up for. All of the swaps are posted in this Swap Art Forum. Only the 10 most recent discussions are shown below, but ALL of the discussions can be found in the Swap Art Forum.

  • If you are new to swapping, review the Guidelines on How to Participate in a Swap. To sign up for a swap, find that discussion and add your name and address to that thread.
  • If you sign up for a swap, please let the swap host know if you will be unable to follow through for any reason.
  • If you host a swap, review the Guidelines on How to Host a Swap and make sure you are comfortable with them. In your post, be sure to include details such as: theme, size/medium, last date for sign-up, date when swap partners will be posted, and date when pieces should be in the mail. Please post the sign-up list and swap partners in your initial post by clicking "Options" in the upper right of your post, then click "Edit discussion", then add the names to your post. Click the orange "Save" button when you are done.
  • Be friendly and considerate in your posts.

Thanks for joining & have fun!

If you're wondering, "What are ATCs"?

ATCs and ACEOs are small works of art that are 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of an average playing card. You can create them in any media you choose.

ATC stands for "Artist Trading Card" and ACEO stands for "Art Cards Editions & Originals". The only difference between them is that ATCs are intended to be traded (and not sold for profit), while ACEOs are intended to be sold.

Hi Stacy and Maureen, so great to hear from you ladies again, it has been hectic on the home front with work and the reality of life and I also backed off swaps for a while too.  Okay a colour series it is, I will set it up after Christmas.

Interesting thought Mary Margaret - monochromatic, happy for all suggestions.  Have a wonderful festive season swappers and watch this page after Christmas.

Hi Marion, Im so happy you are back , I also missed you. I hope all is well with you and you family, XOXO I would consider a color series. I backed off swaps for a while to focus on art journaling. I think a color series would be a great choice , very open to interpretation.

Sounds good to me. Monochromatic?

Sounds like fun Marion. You could count me in on some of them!

Hi Sharon, so good to hear you are addicted to mandalas too and Mary Margaret, a colour/color, depending on whether you use the English or American spelling, lol, is where we would do a series of ATC's in a different colour each time, like doing a different artist series.  So we might start with, my favourite colour, blue and have 2 partners, so we make 2 ATC's in only the colour blue, in any medium and subject.  We could do a colour a month for 2015.

Wishing everyone a very happy festive season wherever you live in this world of ours, stay safe.  Sending you all love and laughter, Marion

What is a color series, Marion?
Comment by sharon oppenheimer on December 16, 2014 at 6:53am

Hi Marion, So good to hear from you. I think of you often when I see your mandala stickers every time I open the fridge. I have been working on canvas with acrylics, something new for me and I often look at your beautiful mandalas for inspiration. Mandalas are as addictive for me as ATCs are. I would love to do a color series !! Great idea !! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas to you and your family and looking forward to some trades in the new year !! xx

Hi everyone,  I have missed my swapping with you all but it has been very busy for me with work these last few months and finally I only have 2 sessions left in my capacity of art therapist this week and then I am on holidays.  So I am able to get back to swapping.  I hope you are all well and ready for Christmas.  I missed Susanne's doll swap part 2 due to the reality of life and work.  Any ATC swaps coming up?  I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I hosted a colour series?  Let me know.  Take care and keep smiling, Marion K

I received Debbie Rippie's Twinchies today along with alot of generous little goodies.I feel like an amateur compared to Debbie. She is a very talented, creative, colorful, stunning artist. She sent me three twinchies and I sent her one + a cute little one by itself, but they don't compare to Deb's. I feel embarrassed that I don't really know the rules or she is just super generous. I will send her another one. I can't help myself. But I am an amateur compared to Debbie. She is so sweet and so complimentary. What a sweetheart. Now I just hope I can download her beautiful work. Thank you so much Deb and I know I will learn from your work since I admire it immensely. Take care, Cathey
