Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Swap Art Group!

This is where you can make and swap any kind of art, including but not limited to: ATCs, postcards, inchies, twinchies, bookmarks, dolls, jewelry and more!

Visit the SWAP FORUM to learn about current swaps and previous swaps, as well as upload photos of the art you received in a swap!

This forum only appears within this group (and not in the "Forums" link on the paintbrush at the top of each page), so be sure to come back to the Swap Art Group to find the swaps you've signed up for. All of the swaps are posted in this Swap Art Forum. Only the 10 most recent discussions are shown below, but ALL of the discussions can be found in the Swap Art Forum.

IMPORTANT: Click here to learn how to PARTICIPATE in a swap. Please follow the guidelines described as closely as you can.

IF YOU WANT TO HOST A SWAP: Click here to learn how to HOST a swap. Please follow the guidelines described as closely as you can.

Just a few simple guidelines:

  • Please keep all discussions relevant to swapping. Feel free to share tips and techniques related to specific swaps, and to post feedback for others on images that are uploaded.
  • If you are new to swapping, review the Guidelines on How to Participate in a Swap. To sign up for a swap, find that discussion and add your name and address to that thread.
  • If you sign up for a swap, please let the swap host know if you will be unable to follow through for any reason.
  • If you host a swap, review the Guidelines on How to Host a Swap and make sure you are comfortable with them. In your post, be sure to include details such as: theme, size/medium, last date for sign-up, date when swap partners will be posted, and date when pieces should be in the mail. Please post the sign-up list and swap partners in your initial post by clicking "Options" in the upper right of your post, then click "Edit discussion", then add the names to your post. Click the orange "Save" button when you are done.
  • Be friendly and considerate in your posts.

Thanks for joining & have fun!

If you're wondering, "What are ATCs"?

ATCs and ACEOs are small works of art that are 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of an average playing card. You can create them in any media you choose.

ATC stands for "Artist Trading Card" and ACEO stands for "Art Cards Editions & Originals". The only difference between them is that ATCs are intended to be traded (and not sold for profit), while ACEOs are intended to be sold.

Indeed Beth, I feel likewise - amidst all the 'other' stuff in our lives this site is a haven where we do give and receive a lot of joy.

I have been thinking and wondering if you had received the beads and then I wonder if they are held up at customs and have these visions of them drilling to see if they contain anything lol!!!

No worries, you take your time and my prays and best wishes to you.

HELLO FELLOW ARTISTS!!!

TAC has been such a blessing for me since I found these swaps.  I have health problems and had not done any art projects in a while… It has made me so happy. Sending and receiving cool stuff with other artists has put a lot of extra sunshine in my life. My husband is also very pleased that I have a little more spark in my eyes…..I am VERY BLESSED!!!! My projects have been a little slow getting out lately and I apologize. I have been out of town and up at hospital for the past 4 weeks. My 83 yr. old mom has not been doing well lately (just declining) and my 28 yr. old son was recently diagnosed with MS… he is gonna be fine I think. I am not seeking sympathy or anything; I mainly just wanted to express my JOY I’ve had through this wonderful “club” /site!! Also I wanted to put a little explanation behind my absences and slowness of late!!! ILOVE TAC and appreciate ALL of my new artist buddies!!!!!

Sincerely, Beth Wall

Hi everyone!

Together with Susanne and the moderators, we've drafted some guidelines on How to Participate in a Swap and How to Host a Swap, based on what's worked and what hasn't over the past year or so since we've begun swapping. You can find links to these pages in the Swap Art Group. Hopefully they will answer many of the questions that newbies have, and also give everyone the info needed to host successful swaps.

If there's anything you think we should add to either page, just let us know by posting here. Thanks everyone, and Happy Swapping! :)

Hey Kip - you should put on your own swap!  Just go to bottom of Swap Art's Discussion Forum and on the left hand side you'll see Add a Discussion.  Click on Add a Discussion and then type all your particulars in there and remember afterwards to click on SAVE which is located at the bottom of your Discussion Page.  If you need to tweek it a bit afterwards, or start a list, just go back into the page and on the upper right hand side you'll see an OPTIONS box.  Click on OPTIONS and then click on Edit Discussion.  Again, always click on SAVE anytime you change your discussion page.  That's a good swap idea you have there Kip.  So I hope you give hosting a swap a try. Good luck!

Hi Maureen and Sharon, If we can get enough people interested maybe we can host an aboriginal swap.  I'll be looking for responses.  I'm not sure how to host a swap, but it would be fun to learn.   Thanks Kip

Kip I would be up for an atc or 4x6  aboriginal swap . It's always been one of my favorite forms of art

Good Morning Kip, I think your idea is great ! I have played around with this style before and would love to give it another try.Count me in.

Hi everyone, I was looking at some examples of Aboriginal Dotpainting, and thought it might be fun to try it.  There are many expressions and spiritual aspects about this art and found it to be rewarding as I looked and the pictures and the tutorials of how to do this art.  What do you think??  It really could be fun.

I need my partner's addresses to mail my inchies and twinchies.  How do I get them?
