I posted this earlier, and Suzanne gave some great information, but I think it was in the wrong spot,so...

I need advice on how to set up a booth or tent for an art festival.  The space is 12 x 12.  I have never done one & need to know about displaying artwork (paintings on canvas) & things I will need in the tent to organize the space.  Another option for this festival I am applying to is a 10 x 10 picnic table area...how would I display canvases in a space like that without just laying them flat on the table?  What are some good brands of tents?  is white preferred at most of these shows/festivals?  Thanks!

Tracy, I have hung canvases by wire in tents, and displayed them on easels both standing easels and table top. I have a friend who lets me use her tent so I have not had to purchase one.

Hi Tracy,

Dick Blick carries a range of tents or "art shelters" for use at festivals.  They carry a lot of the E-Z Up brand, so that must be one of the major art festival tent brands.  You can see them here: http://www.dickblick.com/categories/outdoorstudio/outdoorsunshelter...

Most of them are white. If your art festival has a preference, they would probably make that known. White reflects heat so it's probably a good choice just for that reason!

Hope that helps and good luck with your show!
