We have a one bedroom condo in San Jose del Cabo, so I had to be creative when it comes to space for painting. I set up a corner of our deck with my easels and a couple of small tables. It is perfect that I can just leave it set up and can come and work whenever the urge hits me.

This has been very helpful when working in a small space...I made this hanger for my paints, so I can grab whatever color I need without digging through a pile of paints

And best of all this is my garden technically not mine, but it is a very private location and I have been allowed to plant the bouganvillas and create my own special place.

OOo I love your paint tube holder.

It sure makes finding the right colors simpler

Great paint tube holder, Joyce! Lovely location, too.

Another thought along the same lines is an over-the-door clear shoe organizer.  I keep similar colors together and each one holds like 4 or 5 tubes. Yours is beautiful.  I've always been envious of DIY people.

I thought of the shoe thing...that's what gave me this inspiration...that and scrounging through the paints each time...I use a Mexican brand here...and the tubes are all the same color...so frustrating

They are acrylic...I haven't got the patience for oils

I'm all about instant gratification

We are pretty much bugless....just have to watch for a little bird poop...I have a bird bath and encourage the birds to hang out in my garden...but the other day someone  on the top floor had put out crumbs...well our patio sticks out about 3 feet further than the upper ones....so the wind blew the crumbs on my deck....wondered why my patio was so popular with my feathered friends...there are some advantages to being on the ground floor, larger deck is one of them most of the time...

Thanks Ruth.  Of course it would be wonderful to have a studio, but I am pretty happy when I am out in my space...
